Gender-based Analysis Plus

Governance structure

Ensure the integration of GBA+ in the NBC's decision-making processes through systematic attention to GBA+ in the development of activities and services. This measure will ensure that GBA+ is taken into account in the activities of the NBC.

The visitors’ satisfaction is measured by in-house surveys.

Human resources

The NBC does not have sufficient human and financial resources to allocate a FTE to GBA+.

Highlight GBA + in the organization by recommending to managers and coordinators of key sectors (human resources, animation, etc.) to follow the GBA+ online course. Continue to share the link on the Intranet to make the course accessible to all employees.

Planned initiatives

The following initiatives by the NBC are intended to respond to the government’s call for action on GBA+ :

  • Highlight the role of women and Indigenous peoples of Canada in the offer of historical activities, based on available documents and sources;
  • Maintain the offer of educational activities adapted for newcomers, immersion students in one of the two official languages, persons with physical or mental disabilities and groups with learning difficulties;
  • Maintain the distribution service of cultural pass for new immigrants of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship at the Plains of Abraham Museum;
  • Offer a musical program of various artists at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand, representing various cultural communities. Promote the inclusion of artists of diverse sex, cultural, ethnic, linguistic and racial communities.

The NBC will continue to ensure that GBA+ is taken into account in new policy and project proposals.
