2009 Edition

Take part in entertaining and educational activities especially prepared for youngsters. More than 75,000 participants in 2008. Here are activities and unusual sites where you will be at the centre of the action.

AGE 5 TO 9

THE SPOILS OF THE SOLDIERS

A great mystery is being played out in Martello Tower  2. A treasury may be hidden in the tower. Unravel the military plots and load up the clues. Keep your eyes open and your mind alert, the spoils may be within your reach.  At attention!! Or rather… Watch out!



THE MAGICAL COOKING-POT

The witch Corriveau is preparing her mythical riddles at the Discovery Pavilion of the Plains of Abraham. Take your horseshoe, four-leaf clover and rabbit foot with you: you will need all the luck you can get to foil her booby-trapped games.

AGE 10 TO 13

THE SOLDIER'S "DRILL"

Get your guns, soldiers! The enemy is right outside our walls. Time is running out at the Martello Tower. You only have two hours to learn about loading a gun, making cartridges, loading a cannon, a soldier’s garb and military discipline… Whew !!! Will you be ready on time ?



THE CURSE

The Plains of Abraham are under a terrible spell at the Discovery Pavilion of the Plains of Abraham. Your job is to unravel one by one the strings of this evil spell by solving the riddles, puzzles, mysteries and secret codes surrounding this curse.

PER ACTIVITY:

Period: from July 8 to August 21, 2009.
Maximum capacity: 120 children.
Presentation (costumed character): 1 guide / 30 children.
Duration: 2 hours.
Language: French only.
Meeting place (depending on the activity): Martello Tower 2 (at the corner of Taché St. and Wilfrid-Laurier Ave., Quebec City) or Discovery Pavilion of the Plains of Abraham (835 Wilfrid-Laurier, Quebec City)
Cost: $4.50 / child. A minimum charge wil apply.

A reservation is mandatory for every activity. Sportswear adapted to the weather occurring during the visit is required. The activities take place in all weathers unless otherwise informed by the National Battlefields Commission. A dining-room can be available on request. All costs include taxes and are payable to the Receiver General of Canada. Prices and details are subject to change.
