Take part in the interpretation activities made for groups of adults. Here are enriching and entertaining activities in which you will be at the center of the action.


THE CONVICT'S LAST DRINK

In the 19th century, a crime was apparently committed by a British soldier on furlough. An innkeeper welcomes you to help shed light on the case. Be part of this highly colourful investigation and have your fill of history: military justice, leisure activities and punishment experienced by the soldiers, suspense, quiz, all presented with a taste of humour in the evocative setting of the Martello Tower.

Period: from September 2009to April 2010.
Maximum capacity: 55 participants.
Presentation (costumed characters): 1 per 20 participants.
Duration: 75 minutes.
Language: English or French.
Meeting place: Martello Tower 2 (at the corner of Taché St. and Wilfrid-Laurier Ave, Quebec City).
Cost: $10.00 / person. A minimum charge will apply. Sampling of home-made beers ( 18 years old or older).
Restriction: get a reunion permit to serve alcohol from the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec.

BATTLES AND VICTUALS

Come and enjoy a history-flavoured dinner on the Plains of Abraham and plunge back in time right into the battles of Quebec City and the French and Indian War.Choose one of the two following activities (see descriptions): Wolfe and Montcalm give a show of their own or the Odyssey multimedia exhibition. Sample these exciting moments that will provide lasting memories.

Period: all year round.
Maximum capacity: 60 participants.
Presentation (costumed characters): 2 guides. (self-guided tour for Odyssey).
Duration: from 2 hours to 2 ½ hours.
Language: English or French.
Meeting place: Discovery Pavilion of the Plains of Abraham (835, Wilfrid-Laurier Ave, Quebec City).
Cost: $21.50 / person. A minimum charge will apply. Wine sold on the premises. Service included.


WOLFE AND MONTCALM GIVE A SHOW OF THEIR OWN
Winner of the "La Grande Séduction en groupe" prize awarded by the APAQ

Have a ringside seat to watch a friendly clash between generals Wolfe and Montcalm. To decide who is the winner between these two generals, a contest is organized… in which their hosts will represent them. A gun loading competition, military and surgery quizzes will seal this thorny situation permanently.

Period: all year round.
Maximum capacity: 225 participants.

Duration: from 60 to 90 minutes.

ODYSSEY: AJOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY ON THE PLAINS OF ABRAHAM

Set course for the Odyssey multimedia exhibition and relive the rich, colourful past of the Plains of Abraham, the cradle of Canadian history. Embark on a virtual 400-year journey, with historical figures at your side, ranging from the birth of New France to the park's creation through the famous battle of the Plains of Abraham. Over 20 regimental uniforms from 1759-1760 complete this exhibition. Accessories: head phones, special effects, artefacts, scale models, anecdotes, animatronic character and video. Tea served on request.

Maximum capacity: 75 participants.
Activity: self-guided tour.
Duration: 90 minutes.
Language: English, French, Spanish or Japanese.

WOLFE AND MONTCALM ON FURLOUGH

The two famous generals get a new lease on life by offering you a face-to-face encounter as dramatic as it is interactive. This encounter being of varying length, the two generals will adjust their aim and performance to fit your clientele and your activity. For special activities, conferences and symposiums, our explosive cocktail blending humour, history and interactivity will fight a winning battle in the mind of your guests.

COUNCIL OF WAR AT THE MARTELLO TOWER

Enjoy a typical meal served to British soldiers during the occupation of the tower, in the early 19th century. Solve an intrigue for which your presence is required as witness and suspect. The traitor who sold information to the Americans hides within your group. Your skills and deductive abilities will be requested and perhaps will enable your team to win the victory. The everyday life and conditions of the soldiers in barracks will have no secrets for you. Suspense, quiz, and punishments form a package which is shown with humour in a reminiscent decor of a unique defence fortification in Quebec.

Period: from July to April.
Maximum capacity: 50 participants.
Presentation (costumed characters): 2 guides.
Duration: 3 hours.
Language: English or French.
Meeting place: Martello Tower 2 (at the corner of Taché St. and Wilfrid-Laurier Ave, Quebec City).

The Soldier’s fare:

$35.00 / age 18-64; $32.00 / age 65 or older. A minimum charge will apply. Service included.
- The Sentry’s rations (bread and cheese)
- The Gunner’s broth (Scotch barley soup) or, in summer, The Countess’ bouquet (green salad with sour cream)
- The Soldier’s stew (garden vegetables and mulligan (meat stew))
- The Officer’s plum pudding (plum pudding with fruit salad and hot custard)
- English tea (tea with a hint of sugar and milk)

The Officer’s feast:

$49.00 / age 18-64; $46.00 / age 65 or older. A minimum charge will apply. Service included.

A TOUR OF THE BATTLEFIELDS PARK

With General Wolfe or General Montcalm as your guide, discover the many treasures of one of the world’s most prestigious urban parks. Revisit the great battles, the big public demonstrations, the Bulldogs of Québec’s victory along with numerous other adventures and peculiar historical features. Also, admire all the splendors of a unique landscape, the colours of Joan of Arc Garden, flower beds and many other things. Our historical character can come on board your bus or join you for a walking tour.

Period: all year round on foot or by bus depending on the season.

Duration: from 60 to 90 minutes.

A reservation is mandatory for every activity. Sportswear adapted to the weather occurring during the visit is required. The activities take place in all weathers unless otherwise informed by the National Battlefields Commission. A dining-room can be available on request. All costs include taxes and are payable to the Receiver General of Canada at the time of the visit. Prices and details are subject to change.
